Christine Masters

Christine Masters specialises in teaching developmental music and piano to young children. She has taught at Queensland's Young Conservatorium of Music and has many years experience teaching music in schools.

All children are born with a natural ability to listen and respond to music. Having taught music to many children and adults, of varying ages, I can see how important it is to be exposed to music in a developmentally appropriate way. Christine Masters

Blair Johnston's interest in music manifested at the age of 18 months when every week at church his parents would have to repeatedly pull him away from the church organ during services.

At two they brought him his own keyboard to try and solve that problem. By the age of three he was asking for piano lessons so his parents started him on music classes with Christine Masters. He loved the classes but by the age of five he was really itching to start piano lessons. So Christine trialled it (at the time she was worried he was to young- this was 11 years ago and Blair was the youngest piano student Christine had). After the first class she said he would be fine. 13 years later Blair is now working for Christine as a music teacher. He is currently studying towards his grade 8 in piano and is in year 11 at high school studying at the Queensland Academy for Creative Industry majoring in what else ... music.
